As I am sitting here writing this, a week later, I still can’t get over the magic that we created last Sunday. I had such an amazing team of vendors that I had the pleasure of working with, who were all so flexible and able to perfectly capture my vision- despite a few hiccups that we encountered along the way (freezing cold weather, an event at the location we were going to use, you get the point)!

I think it’s basically a requirement that any couples or wedding photographer is somewhat of a “hopeless romantic” at heart. That’s why we choose to photograph this genre, we don’t just appreciate the idea of love, we thrive on being able to capture REAL couples that are absolutely head over heels for each other. That’s why I chose Taylor and Kaleb, a real couple, to model for this romantic styled shoot. I knew from the beginning exactly where I wanted this shoot and what I wanted the vibe to be- scroll through your Instagram and you see any number of boho elopements, but how often do you see a classic, romantic elopement? So this one is for you- hopeless romantic & classic bride, I know you have an adventurous side too!
Dress shop- Honest in Ivory is a new small business in town, with a great array of gowns to choose from. I first found them on Instagram and then one of our close family friends went there and ended up purchasing her wedding gown and messaged me telling me- her words- that I “JUST HAD TO partner with them for a shoot, they [were] so amazing, you will absolutely love them!”. When I first showed up to ask about working with them on a styled shoot, I was immediately impressed with their building, they are in such a unique location. The owner, Cassie, transformed an old warehouse into a beautiful & light filled space. The modern, industrial building is a surprising and unique compliment to the gorgeous lace and chiffon gowns that are displayed inside of it. This shop is the same kind of vibe I wanted for my shoot- an unexpected but perfect combination.
Hair- I swear every bone in this girls body is a creative one! She transformed an old airstream into a beautifully rustic and fun space for brides to get their hair done- complete with a bathroom and a couch, allowing plenty of space for the whole bridal party. I knew instantly that this innovative idea had to be a part of my styled elopement shoot, to showcase an elopement doesn’t have to sacrifice the more traditional aspects of a wedding day, like getting your hair and makeup done with your girls.
